Kingdom Home Visits Uganda

For the first time since 2019, the Kingdom Home staff and board had the opportunity to visit the homes this past November.

Our team spent four days at the homes, immersing ourselves in the daily lives of the children, and experiencing life in Uganda. Our children’s joy poured out, and it was clear that their lives were different than most in their community. Living in a safe environment, being cared for and having access to an education are rights every child should have. We thank God that we are able to provide that to those who live within the walls of Kingdom Home, and we know we will see a ripple of impact because of it.

Here's a look at the welcome we received as we entered the property on our first day.

We packed our days full of fun with outdoor games like soccer and frisbee, indoor games and crafts, painting murals on the homes and writing letters to sponsors. The thoughtfulness and care the children put into what they wanted to say to their sponsors was truly heartwarming. They wrote with grateful hearts and diligent skill, drawing pictures, adding stickers and creating a lasting memory to share with their sponsors.

It was a full circle experience to be with all the children and staff in their newly built homes for the first time since they moved in back in September, 2021. We were able to walk the entirety of the property, seeing all the potential it has to offer. The three homes are just the start of what we can build on the nearly 13 acres of land that we own. We already have plans to build a soccer field, play structures, a learning lab and develop the back acreage for farming. This will not only enhance the children's daily quality of life at the homes, but it will allow them to learn vital skills that will keep them from being vulnerable to exploitation when they safely rejoin their community in the future.

What a blessing it was to see the impact of our community stateside working in real-time to keep these children safe and their needs being met. We witnessed the difference prevention can make for children who were once at-risk, and it is absolutely life-changing. We are grateful for the faithful support of everyone who has joined hands with us to end child sex slavery in Uganda through prevention.
