WHO WE ARE

Our Why

Kingdom Home exists to provide a safe home for children at risk of entering child sex slavery. The children in our homes have been rescued from situations that we identify as putting them at risk of entering the sex trade. But that isn't where their story ends. Now safe in our home, all of their needs are being met and they are being raised up with the love of Jesus Christ.

Our goal is to bring hope and healing to these children by providing for their physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual needs—serving them holistically. Our children are free to be children and encouraged to learn, grow and serve without bearing the weight of fear and worry.

Why Prevention Matters

7,000–18,000 children are victims of sex trafficking in Uganda, with a lifetime sex trafficking prevalence as high as 11.9% in some Ugandan districts. Research shows that the sex trade is a true threat to the children of Uganda, and our goal is to end this cycle through prevention. Prevention is 98% effective at keeping children from ever entering the sex trade.

Our homes not only help restore our children, but also protects them. By providing a safe home and resources, we can dramatically reduce the likelihood that they would ever enter or re-enter the sex trade or exploitative labor. It is our hope and goal to see them become influencers within their community in order to end the cycle of abuse in Uganda.

THE PROBLEM

In countries around the world today it has become culturally acceptable for families to sell their children when ends don’t meet. It is estimated that 1.2 million children are being trafficked for sex each year.

OUR SOLUTION

To date, Prevention has become the most effective way to end child sex slavery because it diminishes the supply of global child trafficking, making it more and more difficult for sex brokers to find children to sell. A prevention approach provides an opportunity to help at-risk children before they reach a critical level of risk or danger.

IN UGANDA

Uganda has the second youngest population in the world. More than 78% of its citizens are below the age of 35, and this youthful population is projected to double in the next 25 years. This statistic poses Uganda as a target for the child sex trade.
