Kingdom Home hosted successful Spring Into Action virtual walk/run

Kingdom Home hosted successful Spring Into Action virtual walk/run

March was an exciting month for Kingdom Home, as we kicked off our Spring Into Action virtual walk/run.

In efforts to provide a lasting and sustainable future for Kingdom Home, we have three homes currently under construction and created this event to help raise money for the fourth. These new homes, unlike the ones that are being rented in Uganda now, will belong to Kingdom Home and provide space and love for infinitely more children in a way that feels like home.

Beginning March 1, participants had two weeks to walk/run one mile in order to ‘complete the race.’ We wanted to make this event accessible to everyone, and meet people where they are with something fun and impactful.

Participants were encouraged to move in any way they felt called, but we came up with some fun ways people could ‘move with purpose.’

    • Walk in the Park: Walk or run a total of 156 minutes over two weeks to represent the 156 children Kingdom Home supports. Use #KHWalk156 / #KHRun156
    • Three Miles for Three Homes: Walk or run at least three miles to represent our three forever homes we are currently building that will allow us to take in infinitely more children at risk. Use #KH3for3
    • Challenge for Change: If you're really looking to go the distance, challenge yourself with 12.0 miles to represent the $120 it takes to fully sponsor a child each month. Use #KHChallengeForChange

Another facet of our event was that each participant was representing a Kingdom Home child that was still in need of monthly support. Our child sponsorships are the cornerstone of Kingdom Home, and what allows us to provide for the children’s every needs each month.

For as little as $20 per month, you can make a difference in a child's life. A full child sponsorship is $120 per month and provides for the child's holistic needsincluding food, shelter, clothing, the cost of school tuition, uniforms and supplies.

Most importantly, they are living as every child should, free from worry and harm, and are being raised up with the love of Christ.

We loved seeing people across the country spring into action to make a difference in the lives of children who were once at-risk of entering the child sex trade in Uganda.

We encouraged participants to share how they were springing into action by posting on social media to help amplify our story.

Supporters who registered received a "race bib" that they could write in the name of the child they were representing and could even start their own fundraising page to share with family and friends.

The response to our fundraiser was overwhelming and we raised just shy of $6,000 to put towards our fourth home that we plan to build.

An added blessing was that 10 children were sponsored over these two weeks, impacting their lives forever!

We continue to be blessed by our faithful supporters who link arms with us, all to help to end child sex slavery in Uganda through prevention.

The 156 children who have entered our care over the past three years have been greatly impacted by your support. They are growing and thriving, with hopes to become a contributing member to their community. Your generosity allows us to make sure that happens, it gives these children the ability to dream big, and it dramatically reduces the likelihood that they would be trafficked in the future.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!
